SS18 at Menu Space

Imagine a place that fits into Nordhavn like a missing jigsawpuzzle piece, a place that champions high-end aesthetics and clever design solutions, while celebrating its northern harbour roots. Browse or purchase the piece of furniture or textile accessory you fell in love with during a work meeting, or receive a hit of design inspiration from MENU’s refined and timeless aesthetics. Here, the realms of boutique shopping meets exemplary design in all its forms, be it from lifestyle to accessories to furniture.

In collaboration with Norm Architects, Menu has taken a new approach to the art of running a design business and
created a co-working space where great ideas, beautiful design, powerful concepts and inspiration could
flourish and be shared with one another.

As I said in my previous post I started this new year in a fantastic way
by travelling and with a lot of interior inspiration ...

Two weeks ago I was in Copenhagen where I finally had the opportunity to
visit the always inspiring Menu Space in Nordhavn ... and inspiring it was for sure!
After seen a lot of pictures of this creative space and its hospitable cafe at
other blogs and at instagram we could finally admire almost the entire
new collection admire SS18 by ourselves in this amazing setting... so pretty!

Today some snapshots that I made at our visit at Menu Space but also some pictures
of the visit at the Menu stand at IMM Cologne 2018 where I was invited for a press tour.
At the fair I could admire the new collection once again and even some accessories
that I hadn't been able to admire in Copenhagen,  as the new Harbour Chair,
the Eave Sofa, the Cast pendants, the Dell lamp socket and the phare & led bulb
(one of my favorites) Also, I saw the Carrie lamp in new colors (burned Red,
Olive and white)  and the beautiful Zet shelves (also a new favorite) but also
the table (who is on my wishlist for longe time) the snaregade in oak and grey ...
wonderful additions to the collection and  there's so much more,

Design Hotel Danmark - Copenhagen

I've already posted some inspirationposts from my last visit at Copenhagen and
this weekend, when I scrolled through to my photos,  I realized that I
haven't shared any snapshots of the amazing hotel where I stayed before
attending the inspiring Munk collective pressevent at Copenhagen!

In a short time the renewed, refurbished  and very stylish boutique hotel,
hotel Danmark (from the Brochner group) has made it to the very prestigious shortlist
 - best Urban Hotels 2017 by wallpaper magazine . I can only say that I totally agree!
I just loved the perfect mix between the luxurious and warm and cozy feel at this
beautiful spot located in the middle of Copenhagen.

Due to my short stay I wasn't able to explore the whole hotel and its facilities
but my room (light and spacious) was just perfect and included a very comfortable bed,
leather headboards, big windowsills, beautiful brass and marble details and  of course,
stunning Danish design furniture!

Unfortunately after the healthy (organic) breakfast buffet I had to hurry and leave but
not before I had seen the amazing 360-degree city view at the rooftop terrace,
It's so great to admire the whole city and beyond surrounded by
beautiful wooden lounge furniture and green plants.

special thanks to Munk Collective and Hotel Danmark

MUNK collective - The new

.
If you follow me on instagram you might have noticed that these past few days have been filled with inspiration... It all started at Arnhem this last weekend and ended up yesterday, at one of my favorite scandinavian cities Copenhagen, where I was invited to a special press launch from MUNK collective in their HQ presenting their new products.

Besides their beautiful frame trays and the fact that Hans Peter Munk, the man behind MUNK collective, explored a succesfull interior and furniture store in Copenhagen, I wasn't very familiar with the latest developments of the brand  so I was very happy to be able to discover their beautiful and stylish products including the new products
TIME, BLIND, CLICK and CLIMB!

Like it just said Hans Peter Munk is the man behind MUNK Collective. He started his career at Muuto and Vipp but in 2012, he opened his MUNK store in Copenhagen. Since Hans Peter always had some designers and architects in his network, it was natural to hear if they had nothing in the drawers, which could be interesting for a small new design company to put into production The first product was the FRAME tray and it was released in three sizes and five different colors. The tray became a hit and after launching more products Hans Peter decided to close the store and focus on MUNK Collective.

"MUNK collective is a design collective consisting of designers and architects. Hans Peter choses the designers and the designs, and he is therefore the one who choses the direction and the overall aesthetics of the brand.  MUNK collective is not necessarily a Scandinavian brand, and it does not matter whether our designers are from Seoul or Stockholm, Cape Town or Copenhagen. All that matter to us is that we see potential in the designs for our collection and in the designer for our collective."

For the latest four additions of the collection Hans Peter designed two of them. The stunning click lounge and climb. The click lounge chair is a piece of furniture that with a single simple click can be transformed into a lounge sofa and consists of a powder coated steel frame and a cold foam seat upholstered with Kvadrat fabric.

Climb is a shelving system which can be combined in several different ways.
wall mounted or free standing, climb can be used in endless possible ways as you can let it climb up your wall, position one unit as a bedside table or use it as a small storage and is made of oak- or walnut-veneered board with sticks for stabilizing available in oak, warm grey and burnt umber.

The beautiful Blind lamp (my personal favorite) is designed by designers Anita Johansen and Laura Faurschou. The blind lamp refers to its name blind because of its ability to act as a blind thanks to the adjustable lampshade. choose from three different positions creating lighting for every occasion whether you are working or having dinner at the same table.

The completely silent Time clock is designed by designers Birgitte Due Madsen & Jonas Trampedach. A perforated steel plate was the starting point for the design of time clock. besides giving transparency and character to the wall-mounted clock, the hexagonal pattern gives prominence to the even numbers and allows time to be easily identified. A perfect minimalistic and timeless accessory for the home in my opion and available in redbrown and white.

The Krane

While my IG  timeline is filled with the most beautiful photos of
stunning and sunny holiday destinations I'm still working to finish as much
assignments as possible and I guess I'll have to be patience for two more weeks.

The images of this former Copenhagen Coal crane - The Krane - (located on the
edge of Nordhavn)  that has been turned into a stunning 2 person retreat,
really made me long for an extra summerbreak!

The black space is furnished with built-in furniture, as well as custom made
(Menu.as) Scandinavian design furniture (in leather, wood , stone and steel) and
I really love the stylish mimal touch of it.
The reception area can be find on the ground floor and a glass-walled meeting room
on the first floor aswell as a spa and terrace. The hotel room - living space (50 sqm)
complete with a lounge and terrace are situated on the top floor.

Would love to hire this inspiring place and enjoy the views over Copenhagen and
its inspiring hotspots awaiting our vacation ;-)

                                                                                                found via Dezeen with thanks!

Bloom by Norm Architects

.
"A series of installations throughout out the festival site
prompted visitors to consider form, materiality and alternative perspectives"

Just admired these beautiful images of the recently created spatial concept by
 - a festival of nature and science situated in the heart of one of
Copenhagen’s  largest parks, Søndermarken  - and I keep watching them
over and over... Inspired by the stunning mix of nature and art!

workspace love - Kinfolk

" a collaborative workspace where the staff can meet together but also
invite friends and partners to share ideas. A palette of wood and plaster in
muted tones creates an informal, home-like environment
that is more akin to a lounge than an office "

Danish studio Norm Architects has designed the office
for Kinfolk magazine and it looks amazing
I wrote about the Kinfolk gallery before (here)  but when admiring
these more classic styled spaces,  furnished with designbrands as
Muuto, Menu, Vitra, Kvadrat and Reform,
this office has become a real mustsee place in Copenhagen.

Read all about it here and be inspired!

The Copenhagen cityguide - Cereal

Cereal Magazine has celebrated the launch of their Copenhagen Guidebook
in Muuto´s stunning showroom about two weeks ago and I can't stop looking
at these inspiring photos. You might have seen them at other blogs but
I think they're to beautiful not to be shared on my blog...

The Cereal guidebooks were showcased surrounded by a selection of
Muuto furniture and products and a few fine art prints featuring photos
from the guide were mounted on walls of the showroom that I really would
love to admire before visiting all these selected favourite places
that we can find in the cityguide...

definitely on my wishlist... see more of the guide here!

I would like to have been there the past week and admire these designs!
