My rainy friday morning started with the discovery of this stunning apartment 

while visiting some of my fav Swedish brokerage sites

 I was attracted by the harmonious atmosphere 

 created by the mix of warm natural tones, the beautiful design classics, 

the stunning artworks , stylish accessories and the use of fresh greens

Just another perfect exemple on how to give a small apartment a
spatial look, don't you think so?

The Krane

 While my IG  timeline is filled with the most beautiful photos of 
stunning and sunny holiday destinations I'm still working to finish as much 
assignments as possible and I guess I'll have to be patience for two more weeks. 

The images of this former Copenhagen Coal crane - The Krane - (located on the 

edge of Nordhavn)  that has been turned into a stunning 2 person retreat, 

 really made me long for an extra summerbreak!

The black space is furnished with built-in furniture, as well as custom made 

(Menu.as) Scandinavian design furniture (in leather, wood , stone and steel) and 

I really love the stylish mimal touch of it. 
 The reception area can be find on the ground floor and a glass-walled meeting room

 on the first floor aswell as a spa and terrace. The hotel room - living space (50 sqm)

 complete with a lounge and terrace are situated on the top floor.

Would love to hire this inspiring place and enjoy the views over Copenhagen and

 its inspiring hotspots awaiting our vacation ;-)

Menu Space

Probably you already have seen them but when I saw the stunning images of 

 the newly showroom, office, and café - Menuspace -  I wished I could admire it 

myself and book the first possible flight for a quick visit to Copenhagen!

Menu Space is designed in collaboration with Norm Architects for Danish design
 company Menu and the goal was creating a welcoming open space where everyone 

could stop by for a coffee, a meeting, creating great ideas or simply to admire the 

beautiful designs of Menu and build a community around Menu Space that way.

“The idea is to keep Menu Space moving and ever changing. To have friends of the

 house and people we admire stop by on a regular basis and change the interior layout 

however they see fit – ensuring that we always have a vibrant, creative, lively 

space that continues to inspire our neighbours, visitors, friends, clients, and designers”

 The interior is inspired by the raw and industrial setting of the surrounding area,

 the harbour in Nordhavn and according to Norm architiects the space draws heavy 

inspiration  from strong materials that can be found in the area such as concrete and 

steel, providing a beautiful contrast to the objects and designs that fill the plateaus, 

floors, and corners of the space.

Menu Space can be found: Hamborg plads 2, 2150 Nordhavn, 

Denmark openinghours weekdays 8.00 – 16.00

Formex 2017 - some favourites

If you follow me on instagram you might have noticed that this past week has really been fantastic and filled with inspiration ... The week started last Wednesday in Stockholm and ended this weekend with a press visit at IMM Cologne for which I and a number of journalists and bloggers were invited.

Together with my friend Martine Vianen (owner of Via Martine), I  travelled to Stockholm last Wednesday where we visitited the Formex Interior and trade fair for a few hours and where we were surprised by the fantastic entrance that represented  the theme Nordic Space in a very magical way! 

Als je mij volgt op instagram heb je misschien wel gezien dat deze afgelopen week echt fantastisch en vol inspiratie is geweest... Deze week begon afgelopen woensdag in Stockholm en eindigde dit weekend met een pers bezoek aan  IMM Cologne waarvoor ik samen met een aantal journalisten en bloggers was uitgenodigd.

Zoals ik al zei,  woensdag ben ik samen met mijn vriendin Martine Vianen (Via Martine) naar Stockholm gereisd waar we na wat vertraging en het inchecken in ons hotel nog een paar uurtjes op de Formex interieur en trade fair wilden rondkijken en veel inspiratie op wilden doen. Na eerst de fantastische ingang,  waar het thema Nordic Space op magische wijze werd uitgebeeld,   te hebben bewonderd gingen we snel verder.

Because we didn't have much time we decided to visit the Hall with the well-known Scandinavian brands and the starting designers when we immediately spotted the new work (spring collection) of designer and calligrapher Ylva Scarp Today a small impression of a few of my favorite and most inspiring stands at Formex ...

Omdat we kort de tijd hadden besloten we in de hal met de wat grotere Scandinavische merken en de beginnende ontwerpers te bezoeken. We liepen daar eigenlijk meteen tegen de geweldige stand van ontwerpster en kalligraaf Ylva Scarp aan die haar nieuwe voorjaarscollectie collectie presenteerde en we eindigden bij de presentaties van de beginnende designers. In deze post een kleine indruk van een paar van mijn favoriete en meeste inspirerende stands... Via de links in deze post kun je alles over de nieuwe collecties van het merk te weten komen.

The beautiful and timeless designs by Kristina Stark have always attracted me. Also the beautiful wall hangers at her stand with sketches of her work were a real eyecatcher!

De prachtige tijdloze ontwerpen van Kristina Stark hebben me altijd enorm aangetrokken. Ook de prachtige (voor de gelegenheid gemaakte) wandhangers, met daarop schetsen van haar werk waren een echte eyecatcher!

 a visually balanced space with mixed materials, shades and textures... 

Really loved this corner at the huge House Doctor stand.

Een prachtige evenwichtige ruimte gevuld met gemengde materialen, rustige kleuren en texturen... 

Ik vond deze "hoek" van de enorme House Doctor stand echt geweldig! 

The beautiful Stelton stand where we could admire Stelton SS 2017 news but also some stunning accessories of the Skagerak collection. The beautiful Stelton Collar collection, designed by Something. was chosen as the winner of the Formex Formidable Award 2016. 

De prachtige Stelton stand waar we al het Stelton SS 2017 nieuws konden bewonderen was echt heel mooi mede ook omdat daar geweldige combinaties waren gemaakt met de stijlvolle accessoires van het Deense merk Skagerak 

I wasn't familiar with the designs of Maria Broman  for Graut design. but I totally fell for the beautiful accessories (made of concrete) and the chosen colour scheme that I saw on Formex.

ik kende de ontwerpen van Maria Broman (gemaakt van Beton) voor Graut.design nog niet maar ik viel direct voor de prachtige ontwerpen en gekozen kleurstelling die ik op Formex zag.

Danish architect Kaja Skytte works in the field of interior design with a special focus on materials and the interaction with space. She works in a variety of materials and has developed diverse beautiful and very original products as the galaxy globe mobile. 

De Deense architecte Kaja Skytte werkt als interieur ontwerpster met een speciale focus op materialen en de interactie met ruimte. Ze werkt ook met verschillende materialen en heeft diverse originele accessoires als de galaxy globe mobile ontworpen. 

Formex has about 850 exhibitors per fair with products in interior design, gifts, design, children's products, fashion and accessories etc. It brings together national and international buyers, agents, wholesalers, importers, designers, producers and media from all over the interior design and gifts industry. The 2017 theme of Formex was Nordic Space.

MENU - SS2017

Happy new year! Starting this first blogpost by wishing you 
all the best and I truely hope that all your dreams will come true and 
great opportunities and moment will come by!

This week I received the stunning press images of the Menu SS2017 collection
in my mailbox and I couldnt wait any longer to share them!  
 For me personally they really came at the perfect moment just when 
our home felt very empty after cleaning up the festive decorations!

 The images inspired me immediately and I really liked the harmonious 
elegant minimal atmosphere created by the mix of the used monochrome- and
the warm brown and natural tones of the furniture and accessories. 

I admit that it didn't took me long to add some pieces of the
 collection on my wishlist. The tray table and the meet bench
 (both designed by Norm Architects) and the beautiful Echassè Vase
 (designed by Theresa Arns) are my absolute favorites... What are yours? 

Gelukkig Nieuwjaar allemaal! In deze eerste blogpost van het nieuwe jaar wil ik jullie natuurlijk allereerst het allerbeste toewensen en ik hoop van harte dat al jullie dromen en plannen op welk gebied dan ook, uit zullen komen!

Deze week ontving ik de geweldige persfoto's van de Menu SS2017 collecte in mijn mailbox en ik kon echt niet langer wachten om ze te delen!  Voor mij persoonlijk kwamen ze echt op het perfecte moment net toen ons huis heel erg leeg voelde  na het opruimen van de kerstboom en alle decoraties! De beelden inspireerde me meteen,  ikhou echt van deze harmonieuze minimale sfeer gecreëerd door de mix van de gebruikte monochrome- en de warme bruine en natuurlijke tinten van de meubels en accessoires.  Ik geef dan ook onmiddelijk toe dat dat het niet lang duurde dat ik sommige accessoires van de collectie op mijn wenslijstje heb gezet. De "tray table"  en de "meet bench" (beide ontworpen door  Norm architects) en de prachtige Echassè vaas (ontworpen door Theresa Arns) zijn mijn absolute favorieten...
