The wire series - Table Top by Menu

After spending some nice days off with my family and enjoying a cosy Easter
with my sister and her family I realised that I havent shared some of the
latest changes in my livingroom.

When you have been following me you´ll know that my livingroom is one of
the most redecorated rooms in our home,  I just love it when it all comes together
just by changing a few details... Mixing and matching with different accessories is such fun!

In my opinion the decorative wire series of Danish design brand Menu is just
perfect for this occasion... I already knew the wire base could be combined with
the flowerpot (I even used it as a standard for our Christmas tree) and
turned into a stand for the Disc Oil lamp but a little while ago I discovered
the latest addition of the Wire series!

Because we do not have a very large living room, we decided not to take a coffee table
so instead of this I'm always looking for small tables. I admit; I have this "thing"
for nice stylish sidetables (already have a few of them) and I'm always changing and
rearranging them around the house...  So yes, when I discoverd the new Menu
Wire table top at online departmentstore fonQ  it really made me smile!

The tabletop is made of Marquina marble (available in black and white) ,
a particularly beautiful natural product and its such a nice fact that
every piece of marble is unique! All the wire series products can be used
both indoors and outdoors, that makes it extra special!

The inspiration for this charming and decorative wirevseries came while Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen
(Norm Architects) were visiting a Japanese-inspired garden in L.A. The garden had custom-made standing and
hanging displays with flowers and light. Together with Japanese trees and small fountains it transformed
the garden into a beautiful new kind of Art Deco style.

SS18 at Menu Space

Imagine a place that fits into Nordhavn like a missing jigsawpuzzle piece, a place that champions high-end aesthetics and clever design solutions, while celebrating its northern harbour roots. Browse or purchase the piece of furniture or textile accessory you fell in love with during a work meeting, or receive a hit of design inspiration from MENU’s refined and timeless aesthetics. Here, the realms of boutique shopping meets exemplary design in all its forms, be it from lifestyle to accessories to furniture.

In collaboration with Norm Architects, Menu has taken a new approach to the art of running a design business and
created a co-working space where great ideas, beautiful design, powerful concepts and inspiration could
flourish and be shared with one another.

As I said in my previous post I started this new year in a fantastic way
by travelling and with a lot of interior inspiration ...

Two weeks ago I was in Copenhagen where I finally had the opportunity to
visit the always inspiring Menu Space in Nordhavn ... and inspiring it was for sure!
After seen a lot of pictures of this creative space and its hospitable cafe at
other blogs and at instagram we could finally admire almost the entire
new collection admire SS18 by ourselves in this amazing setting... so pretty!

Today some snapshots that I made at our visit at Menu Space but also some pictures
of the visit at the Menu stand at IMM Cologne 2018 where I was invited for a press tour.
At the fair I could admire the new collection once again and even some accessories
that I hadn't been able to admire in Copenhagen,  as the new Harbour Chair,
the Eave Sofa, the Cast pendants, the Dell lamp socket and the phare & led bulb
(one of my favorites) Also, I saw the Carrie lamp in new colors (burned Red,
Olive and white)  and the beautiful Zet shelves (also a new favorite) but also
the table (who is on my wishlist for longe time) the snaregade in oak and grey ...
wonderful additions to the collection and  there's so much more,

Menu Space

Probably you already have seen them but when I saw the stunning images of
the newly showroom, office, and café - Menuspace -  I wished I could admire it
myself and book the first possible flight for a quick visit to Copenhagen!

Menu Space is designed in collaboration with Norm Architects for Danish design
company Menu and the goal was creating a welcoming open space where everyone
could stop by for a coffee, a meeting, creating great ideas or simply to admire the
beautiful designs of Menu and build a community around Menu Space that way.

“The idea is to keep Menu Space moving and ever changing. To have friends of the
house and people we admire stop by on a regular basis and change the interior layout
however they see fit – ensuring that we always have a vibrant, creative, lively
space that continues to inspire our neighbours, visitors, friends, clients, and designers”

The interior is inspired by the raw and industrial setting of the surrounding area,
the harbour in Nordhavn and according to Norm architiects the space draws heavy
inspiration  from strong materials that can be found in the area such as concrete and
steel, providing a beautiful contrast to the objects and designs that fill the plateaus,
floors, and corners of the space.

Menu Space can be found: Hamborg plads 2, 2150 Nordhavn,
Denmark openinghours weekdays 8.00 – 16.00

Afteroomchair by Menu #giveaway

Today some snapshots of some of last weeks changes (and try outs) at
my workspace/bedroom with a tribute to the beautiful
Menu Afteroom dining chair that has finally arrived in my home ;-)
About three years ago I wrote my first blogpost (here) about this chair and
I still love the simplicity and the clear lines of its beautiful design

This three-legged chair is an homage to functionalism and to the Bauhaus school of art & architecture The chair is availble in various versions and I choosed the black dining chair 4
to add in my renewed and refreshed workspace. The three legs, the round details and its flexible backrest made it an interesting and practical chair for us to add in our relatively small bedroom/workspace.  What do you think?

Are you,  just like me,  a huge fan of the stunning Afteroom chairs by Menu?
I have teamed up with Menu and started a giveaway on my instagram.
You will find all details here

FUWL cage table by Menu - tablelove

.

After some busy weeks filled with Swedish and German interior inspiration today
some photos of our living room! Our changed living room actually...  during our Christmas break we started doing odd jobs and upgrading our home. Because I knew our wooden locker closet would to move to my sons room and because our living is quit small I have been looking for a stylish hanging wall cabinet to create a more spacious look.

Also I was searching quite a while for a new coffee table... It had to be a Minimalist, not too large one but with enough space to lay down some of my fav stuff ! So when I recently saw the press photos of the Menu SS2017 collection with the renewed FUWL cage table (designed by Form us with love) I knew this was the kind of model that I was looking for! The thoughtful combination of its stunning design and functionality is so cool!

I found the black edditon of the FUWL cage side table at NL webshop fonQ! I prefered this version because the top of this table is made of warm dark ash wood (in contrast to the marble top of the renewed SS2017 version) and of its matte powder coated steel frame.  I also like the fact that the design focuses on function combining the table with a storage unit underneath. The basket under the wooden the table is perfect for storing magazines or blankets!
