friday inspiration | Norm Architects

"The story goes that the house used to belong to the famous danish architect, designer and cultural critic, Poul Henningsen. Today, a family of three resides in the historic house – a modern home that holds references to its original state – with beautiful high panels, parquet flooring, low, paned windows, teak furniture and – of course – retro PH lamps hanging over the kitchen island."

Norm Architects recently finished the restoration of a beautiful villa in Copenhagen...
beautiful friday inspiration that I've admired this morning at facebook
see more here and be inspired!

The Gjøvik house - Norm Architects

.
"An hour north of Oslo, located on a majestic hill side facing
               the Norwegian woods and Mjøsa lake, lies the Gjøvik house;
a modern and minimal cluster house created by Norm Architects."

The latest design of Norm Architects (leaded by Linda Korndal)
a modern cluster house,
has been finished and looks amazing in my opion...

"This amazing family home with materials, levels and inbuilt, tailor-made furniture creating
a minimal yet warm and secluded feeling. The house gracefully embraces the hill side terrain,
merging with its surroundings in a humble and natural manner."

Close Contact - kinfolk gallery

"The images highlight the contrasts and connections between geometric and anthropomorphic shapes, the latter referring to the Greek words anthropos and morphe meaning human form. Elements fundamental to our design process. The beautiful look and feel of leather is universal. In my mind, it stems from a connectivity with our own skin and a deeper, innate desire to connect with nature.”

Since its opening in 2016 this place is on my must visit list ...
The Kinfolk Gallery is a collaborative, multifunctional space in the heart of
Copenhagen where kinfolk friends and partners come together
to share ideas and showcase their work

Last week I finally had the chance to visit the gallery and I was very lucky to be able
to admire Close Contact - the just opened photography exhibition presented
by Kinfolk and Sorensen Leather with original artworks by co-founder and

Really enjoyed this intimate exploration of the sphere versus our own form,
the amazing artworks and the beautiful minimalist space...
if you got the chance to visit; Close Contact can be seen at Amagertorv 14,
Monday to Friday from 10:00-16:00 until October 31st.

NÆRVÆR - ceramics

Nærvær is a perfectly located wine bar and restaurant with a
beautiful view at  Copenhagen’s old city center,  is one of
the latest stunning project by Norm Architects,

In addition to designing the interior,  Norm (in collaboration with
Danish ceramicist Maj-Brit Würtz and the Head Chef at Nærvær, Yves Le Lay)
also created a unique collection of handmade pottery to compliment the culinary
experience and architecture of this new spot and I just love the warm imperfect
look of the rustic plates, vases, cups and bowls in different earth tones.
Especially in contrast with the industrial atmosphere of the restaurant it looks
stunning don't you think so?

Definitely a beautiful inspiring place to visit when in Copenhagen!

Menu Space

Probably you already have seen them but when I saw the stunning images of
the newly showroom, office, and café - Menuspace -  I wished I could admire it
myself and book the first possible flight for a quick visit to Copenhagen!

Menu Space is designed in collaboration with Norm Architects for Danish design
company Menu and the goal was creating a welcoming open space where everyone
could stop by for a coffee, a meeting, creating great ideas or simply to admire the
beautiful designs of Menu and build a community around Menu Space that way.

“The idea is to keep Menu Space moving and ever changing. To have friends of the
house and people we admire stop by on a regular basis and change the interior layout
however they see fit – ensuring that we always have a vibrant, creative, lively
space that continues to inspire our neighbours, visitors, friends, clients, and designers”

The interior is inspired by the raw and industrial setting of the surrounding area,
the harbour in Nordhavn and according to Norm architiects the space draws heavy
inspiration  from strong materials that can be found in the area such as concrete and
steel, providing a beautiful contrast to the objects and designs that fill the plateaus,
floors, and corners of the space.

Menu Space can be found: Hamborg plads 2, 2150 Nordhavn,
Denmark openinghours weekdays 8.00 – 16.00

Bloom by Norm Architects

.
"A series of installations throughout out the festival site
prompted visitors to consider form, materiality and alternative perspectives"

Just admired these beautiful images of the recently created spatial concept by
 - a festival of nature and science situated in the heart of one of
Copenhagen’s  largest parks, Søndermarken  - and I keep watching them
over and over... Inspired by the stunning mix of nature and art!

SHADE by Norm Architects

Between all the great and inspiring photos that we see this week on social media about
the Salone del Mobile,  I also admired the stunning new collection at Norm Architects.

The entitled - SHADE -  collection was created in collaboration with
Sorensen leather and looks very inviting... I already loved the design of
the chair but this addition with the soft leather (in muted earth tones)
gives it a more luxurous feel and  and it looks perfect to combine with other
natural materials as concrete, stone and wood.

Sabi leaves - printlove

"a beautiful tribute to the imperfections and vulnability
often overlooked in nature.  Consisting of 4 different prints,
shot with a new camera systeem with an incredible amount of
detail and precision of tarnished leaves up close..."

the stunning new prints of the 'Sabi Leaves' series by Norm architects are
available now and I just love them!
