Enter the loft

 Today some great inspiration from Amsterdam 
where I visited the amazing design concept (and shop) The loft, 

 the House of the fictional Mister Benjamin.

The Loft is really a breathtaking and inspiring decorated apartment 

in a canalhouse in the centre of Amsterdam. 

While entering the loft you will discover all about

the inhabitant mister Benjamin, and his lifestyle, his taste for design,

 his books and music, the beautiful photo art (by Marie-Stella-Maris) 

his work, the amazing kitchen (designed by Eginstill)  and my favourite...  

his stunning bathroom (by Baden Baden)!

the loft is designed by Kassandra Schreuder, 
Floris Koch and Maarten van Huijstee and to create it 
they have worked together with several brands, stores and artists

you will find all information about the loft here 

The loft is a temporary project and will open until the 6th of september 2015

I really enjoyed reading all the stories... so if you're interested

Hi, hope you all had a great weekend!

we really enjoyed the sunny days and I'm still a little bit in this

 "in-between" afterbreak period of working- and holidaymood

My temporary workspace is filled with stuff, photos and prints
 that I have been using these last months and even tough 
all together they create a beautiful still-life on my desk

I'm looking forward to clean up and make some new plans and ideas...

I really like admiring before and after reportages

following the whole proces of a total home makeover can be so inspiring!

This apartment has been transformed from a sober 90's style home with dark floors into a 

stylish bright place with white painted floors a lot of  grey shades and wood 

Really like the warm atmosphere created by the mix of Danish design from the 60s and 70s, 

modern design, IKEA, industrial elements and DIY projects. 

Just loved the cool magazine holder made by two old leather straps screwed to the wall

a great detail that really makes the difference!

lamplove - Muuto

Muuto just launched their new lamp series

the Ambit pendant lamp (designed by TAF architects)  and this stunning Grain lamp 

which has definitely become my favourite 

just love the simple minimalistic design!

 the new used materials (composite) in the lamp's construction 

should add an unexpexted soffness and warmth 

according designer Jens Fager... Well I can't wait to admire! 

Grain is made of a mixture of bamboo fibres and polypropylene with a rubber cord

it will be available in black, grey, dusty, red, nature and duste green

A little while ago I told you about the stunning coming Ikea collection - Sinnerlig - 

a collection "designed to engage the senses and increase our feeling of well being at home"

this weekend I finally had the occasion to feel and admire the furniture
 (oh that amazing day-bed) and the stunning accessories

 designed by Ilse Crawford of StudioIlse

 I was really curious and of the more than 30 pieces consisting collection (pure eyecandy)
the stoneware black/brown jug really caught my eye... 
it's a real addition to our house, timeless design that is not only very manageable
 in use but also very suitable to display in your house
 beautiful and simple as I love it so much,,,

this weekend I was really attracted by these

 stunning and stylish workspaces seen at Livet Hemma

just love the creative facelift the stylists gave to these two home offices!

The first space in peaceful greyshades to create a calme atmosphere 

(just perfect to start this first school week) and at the second

I just loved the vintage and industrial look and its warm atmosphere

I couldn't  choose... do you? 

It's a great inspiring start of this first "after break Monday"

Hi there! I'm finally back after a great - very long - summerbreak
 I hope that you are all having a fantastic summer !

Just like last year we really had a great vacation at the south of France

where we visited the beautiful Provence again and also the Cevennes area 

(a mountain range forming part of the Central Massif ) where we enjoyed the pleasant
 Mediterranean climate, the great atmosphere and where we visited some wonderful 
authentic villages (with their unique markets) but also the famous summer festival of Avignon 
and the amazing Bambouseraie,  located at the foothills of The Cévennes valley,

 where we felt being in Asia at that moment!

"The Bambouseraie gardens are created in 1856 by Eugène Mazel and it's a unique place in Europe. 

The park of about 15 hectares is home to over 150 varieties of bamboo and a variety of exotic plants and remarkable trees. The route proposed visitors made ​​the journey to the forest of giant bamboo, the Japanese-inspired garden, through the Laotian village and the amazing valley of the Dragon. The Cevennes Bamboo also has a floral garden and a water garden  and even a maze ... " where we had lot's of fun with the kids!

The park is really worth to visit if you are in the area. 
The many and varied greens and the bamboo inspired me directly to 
restyle my house into an urban jungle when I came back!
 Really loved it...

After a wonderful time in France and some great weeks at the 
Dutch south-west coast (Zeeland) with my family it's also great to be home again and 
to be back in our normal rhythm. This week our holiday ends, the boys are going back to 
school but ofcourse I will try to keep this summermood a little bit longer and enjoy
 the sunny days as much as possible ;-) 

 have a great Sunday...
