a New York loft in a Swedish cardboard factory

What do you get if you combine a cardboard factory,  built in 1912,   with the atmosphere of a stylish loft in New York?  A great unique apartment with an industrial ceiling and large windows,  where the brick walls have been carefully preserved and the bedroom is delineated by an industrial glass wall ...

It had been a while since I looked at one of my favorite Swedish real estate sites
but I know it is always worth it ... there is always an inspiring dream home
to be found don't you think so?

This weekend when I visited the site of Alvhem my attention was attracted
immediately by this fantastic apartment, styled by styling duo Sundling Kickén!
Love love love the amazing atmosphere created by the mix of furniture, art and
other accessories and the perfect stylingwork...

see more of this stunning place here and be inspired!

workspace love

love this workspace idea
seen a little while ago at Livet Hemma
The new industrial looking chair and
the stylish creative atmosphere around are
just beautiful in all its simplicity and
perfect inspiration to start a whole new week...

wish you all a happy one!

Fijne week.

I really like visiting and being inspired by the new
film- and photography locations  of JJ locations London

This time I have admired this amazing industrial studio
located in Soho where I was attracted by the
original details as the antique iron radiators and the exposed copper pipes
but also the stunning (painted white) brick walls,  concrete floors
and the amazing light!

see more of this dreamlocation here and be inspired just like me!

Congratulations Henk BM you are the lucky winner of
the stunning Quip & Co cabinet!
please let us know your adress at elvsblog@gmail.com

- this giveaway is closed -

like I said in my previous posts I really like this time of the year...
It's the time of the year where we decorate our homes a little bit more than we
normally do and where we enjoy the cosy moments when we light the candles and spend
some extra special moments with our families.
It's the time of the year of making whishlists but above all the time of giving...

A few weeks ago Maarten the owner of dutch company Quip &Co has send me a mail
because he thought it would be lovely to have a giveaway collaboration
to celebrate the most beautiful time of the year... christmas time!

Maarten and his wife Lida thought that, in the spirit of Christmas,
it would be a great idea to make it a special giveaway... which means that
instead of joining this giveaway for yourself you can also choose
to play and win the cabinet for someone else or
to tag another person to give her or him the opportunity to join this giveaway!

I am really happy to have this festive Quip & Co giveaway on the blog today
it's such an amazing start of the week!

 What can you win?

Do you know quip & co?
Quip & Co is a young company run by Lida and Maarten.
Lida & Maarten work with a lot of passion and pleasure and their ideas
are based on the many trips that they have made. Their preference for eclectic interior and
their love for the combination of different styles makes their  (web-)shop unique.
In the quip &co shop (located in a characteristeric building - a former forgery- at Putten NL)
you will find industrial furniture, industrial lighting and accessories that they would love to have themselves.

Quip & Co is focused on the Dutch market, therefore this giveaway
can only be entered by our dutch readers! sorry...

this giveaway closes the 22th of December 20.00h!
the winner will be announced at this post... good luck :)

location love - "lasloods"

photos elvs

after a fantastic and sunny
long weekend  at the dutch coast
it's great to start with this stunning workspace

I made these pictures this weekend
while visiting a temporary (13-14-20-21 june) exposition
in an old whellingfactory in my birth place Vlissingen.
I discoverd the expososition by coincidence
but I was attracted  immediately by the beautiful raw atmosphere

just loved the inspiring industrial elements
(as the concrete floors and walls, original details and vintage furniture
made of used materials) of this gorgeous location in combination with
the art works/photo exibibition,  mostly made of used materials
found in- and around this historic industrial building

the building will be open for public on the 20th  and 21th of June

the project: ' If paradise is half as nice #4 ' is the art project of Dutch and German artists in different configurations.
They claim empty expired factory complexes for a short period to work and exhibit. The artists are inspired by the building and the surrounding area and in this way they create large installations, sculptures, wall paintings (often) specifically designed only for the building. The artist have worked together 3 times before in Leipzig (Germany) and this spring, they  work in the yard at the invitation of Culture Lasloods in Vlissingen.

stylish and industrial

.
different raw materials, large window, a concrete floor,
wooden framing and a metal roof and so much original and
creative (designed by the owner) details and furniture to admire

while visiting the inspiration gallery of ELLE decoration yesterday
I totally crushed on this stunning home - an engine shed at an old train depot  -
that has been turned in an amazing summerhouse
and where the monochrome tones inside
perfectly fit with the colors of nature outside
