harmonious grays

black and grey shades,  whites, a touch of brown and a mix of
personal, some older and new accessories to welcome this new season...

the stunning gray autumn skies and the beautiful
to rearrange my sideboard and create a harmonious atmosphere
to enjoy cosy evenings filled with candlelight with my family...

Creating moody still-lifes can be such fun!

details - in my bedroom

.
I love the little details... I have said it before but I really think
they always make the difference!

Inspired by the beautiful accessories of the latest Design letters collection,
based on some new discovered patterns designed by Arne Jacobsen
that I have admired at their press presentation in Kopenhagen two weeks ago,
I have changed things up in my bedroom by moving some things and by having some of
my new most wanted AJ pieces around me like the floral bedcover,
the gorgeous green AJ Royal Vintage vase and the travelbook with its geometric pattern.
All beautiful, but different pieces - I just can not choose a favorite... do you?

Just love the stunning contrast between the crispy whites and the varied added details
another changingmood in my bedroom...  Today some snapshots!

ps. thank you so much Design letters and fonQ.nl for inviting me and to make my acquaintance with the two sides of AJ

in my bedroom - crisp sheets

Today some new snapshots...
I told you before that I really like a bright minimal atmosphere in my bedroom
so the changes in this room are always in the details

In some previous posts (here and here) you can read about my love for
the perfect crisp, cotton sheets designed by Lara Jans, founder of Crisp Sheets.
Last week I was pleasantly surprised again by some new beautiful accessories,
when Lara invited me to discover the new collection of Crisp Sheets on her site.

My attention was immediately caught by the  ‘Stardust Wool Throw’
a (reversible) blanket that fits perfectly at the end of our double bed to keep us warm and
comfy during the chilly nights as we have them lately but I was also attracted
by the stunning linen flat sheet and pillowcases a nice addition to the earlier collection
not only because Linen is a beautiful natural material but also
it cools in summer and warms up when it‘s cold.

once again I discovered that simply changing some details
(or even recycling the legs of a site table into a nightstand) really makes the difference!
beautiful and simple...what do you think?

ps. you can find all about - and be inspired by the stunning stylish photos
of the new collection by Crisp Sheets here

a changing state of mind

photos elvs

It's been a while since I shared some snapshots of my home ...
After the holidays and cleaning up the Christmas decorations I was looking
to break up with all the whites and add some colour,
but when I did I realized that I really love this light and monochrome environment!

so besides the fresh magnolia branches to add some sping inside and
the framed photo from Vogue magazine there is nothing really new,
I only switched some favourite things up, by moving them from
other rooms and I restyled my forever changing bench.
I think it's by far the most changed corner in my home and I love it!

Do you also have such a spot in your home and would you like it share it on my blog?
Please let me know... it will be fun!

"The beauty is in the details
details made of natural materials as cork, ceramics and glass"

A little while ago I told you about the stunning coming Ikea collection - Sinnerlig
a collection "designed to engage the senses and increase our feeling of well being at home"

this weekend I finally had the occasion to feel and admire the furniture
(oh that amazing day-bed) and the stunning accessories
designed by Ilse Crawford of StudioIlse

I was really curious and of the more than 30 pieces consisting collection (pure eyecandy)
the stoneware black/brown jug really caught my eye...

in use but also very suitable to display in your house

dutch design - crisp sheets

photos elvs

Today some snapshots from last week of my updated bedroom...

Inspired by some new beautiful accessories,
I have finally found the perfect designed crisp, cotton sheets when I read an older

issue of ELLE magazine the other day and saw an article about  the bedding of crisp sheets,
I have changed things up by moving the bench from the
living to the bedroom and having some of my favourite things around me like my
 magazines, creams, prints and jewelry.

To be honest, for me, one of the most difficult things to find is
stylish bedlinen with an afforable prince.
Mostly I bought plain sheets because I couldn't find the modern minimalistic
designed sheets that I was looking for and thtis is exactly why
Lara Jans, founder of Crisp Sheets, started her own label in 2014.

For Lara it started when she moved in her new apartment and couldn't
seem to find bedsheets that matched with her taste.
She started visualizing how these sheets would look and feel and it
did not take long before she started working on the designs and
determining what kind of technique could give that crisp touch to cotton.
After finding the right supplier "Crisp Sheets" was established.

In my bedroom I love a minimal styling.
The top surface of the sheets and pillowcases are printed in a peaceful blue
aquarelle design (inspired by the five oceans and their beautiful ray of blues)
They feel very soft and comfortable... very inviting and
they're just perfect to spend lot's of lazy weekend mornings!

once again I discovered that simply changing some details
(or even just one photo of a magazine) really makes the difference!
beautiful simplicity...what do you think?

PS. Besides beautiful sheets Lara also creates posters and postcards. When she started
sketching for the bedsheets, she made a lot of designs,  not all of them where suitable
for duvet covers, so she decided to create prints as well.
