20.11.17

simple and festive

A simple and practical flat-pack design,
decorations made from sturdy carton with a matte silver finish.

The first advent is approaching and everything that belongs to Christmas...
If you follow me a little bit longer you might know that I love
stylish but mostly very simple decorations,  especially greens.

Last week these festive decorations at the hand-chosen selection of gifts at COS
really caught my eye... Just beautiful and simple as I love it so much!

creating with shapes - COS x Usha Doshi

Our material world is built from squares and rectangles,
circles, ovals, triangles and diamonds.
Basic geometric shapes form the basis for how we design
the things that surround us and Usha Doshi’s

Just admired some images of the inspiring book - Creating with Shapes -
(the first title published by COS) and the launch of the limited COS shapes
methods and techniques devised by Royal College of  Art teacher and
long-time COS collaborator Usha Doshi.

The book and the collection will be available online and
in selected stores worldwide very soon and definitely on my
just started little wishlist for Christmas ;-)

Contrast - COS AW17

" the variation and the creative interaction between different, even contradictory elements"

The latest issue of COS magazine is out and I really like this edition inspired by
the contrasts in the AW17-collection of COS.

The campaign for this season, photographed on location in the
Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, shows a brand new collection with
new cuts and proportions for the classic items,  inspired by geometric shapes
with architectural lines in a color palette of dark chestnut, navy and light blue,
grey, olive green and strong tones of red including some beautiful and
stylish items in burgundy... definitely my favorite for this coming season!

COS x Studio Swine

“Inspired by the famous cherry blossom festival in Japan,
the installation is designed to create a special moment that brings people together.
A fleeting shared experience that evokes a senseof the changing seasons.”
— Studio Swine

Designed to use minimal resources, the installation presents ephemeral materials in astrange new context; delicate mist-filled ‘blossoms’ that disappear on contact with skin, but can be held by visitors wearing special gloves. Producing these blossoms is theinstallation’s bold centrepiece, a tree-like sculpture that references the ornate chandeliers of Milanese palazzos.

Yesterday, when I opened my mailbox  I was pleasantly surprised by this stunning movie...

For the sixth year running COS is celebrating the design fair Salone del Mobile.
Along with the London design duo Studio Swine they worked on New Spring,
an interactive installation and experience for all the senses in the historic Cinema Arti.
Wished I could be there to admire it....
