lamplove - W171 Alma lamp

.
A few monts ago, when I saw them them the first time,  I really fell for this
beautiful perfectly composed lamp that I see more and more
on my IG timeline lately.

The Wästberg w171 Alma lamp, designed by Tham & Videgård ,
was originally created for a new co-working creative facility project  Alma in
Stockholm and I was attracted immediately by the shape of the lamp
which is based on a rotated sine wave, where light and shadow create a readily
 recognizable character

The lamp is available in two different white shades: Signal white and Grey white and
according the designers the soft and reduced shape creates a cozy atmosphere that
provides a sculptural feeling, even in daylight, when it satins matte
the surface and the colors on the surface appear.

It's about RoMi - in my bedroom

 .
I love the little details... I know I said it before but I really think they
always make the difference to create a certain atmosphere

If you followed my instagramstories these last few weeks you might have seen that we are
painting and refreshing our home. We started this project at the attic
(where we also sleep) and I thought it would be fun to share some snapshots of
our updated and crispy white bedroom.

This time I didn't add many new accessories to our bedroom.
I wanted a fresh but also soft summer look so I searched for some natural and
warm tones in the collected items that I already have.
With small details like the bibs and bobs in powder, some wooden details,
the rusted red mug,  but also with magazines and books in natural and brown tones
I created this atmosphere in a very simple way.

One of the new eyecatching accessories in our bedroom are the new lights.
I have been searching for a while and I thought it would be nice to add some marble.
So when I saw the stylish Athens table lamps from 'It's about RoMi'
at Dutch online warehouse fonQ,  I knew they would perfectly
fit to the style that I had in mind.

'It's about RoMi' is a very affordable Dutch brand that takes its inspiration from the
urban life of Amsterdam, but also a lot of their ideas come from nature.
The result: simple yet attractive designs made of pure materials.
The fitting of the lamp consists of a pretty slick piece of
marble and since each piece of marble is looking a little bit different,
each Athens lamp is really unique!

ps. I combined the Athens lamp with a large filament light bulb to make him even
more  attractive... what do you think? Just love the stunning mix of the
fresh whites and the natural details... simple and beautiful as I love it so much!

lamplove - Pion by Hay

 styling/photos/text by elvs

On the table, on or in a Cabinet or on the floor... some lamps radiate anywhere!

I always had an eye on unique and separate lamps and they have always inspired me
in my unstoppable sense of changing and restyling our living room.
So when dutch online store fonQ.nl asked me if a would be interesting in
making a review about the Hay Pion lamp it was a great opportunity!

This new purchase from this always inspiring Danish design brand,
invited me to go look around for some of my favourite monochrome treasures
collected over the years and to exhibit them on my bench.
Some beautiful magnolia branches completed this new bright natural look at this corner!
So yes.. once again I discovered that adding only a few other details
really made the difference! It gave me the feel of creating Spring inside!

The Wrong for Hay (a collaboration between Danish design brand HAY and
London-based designer Sebastian Wrong) Pion lamp is designed
by Bertjan Pot. Bertjan graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven.
His work is about curiosity for materials and experiments and
 that's what atracted  me immediately.
The Pion is made of aluminum, and... paper! How special is that!

Through the paper use the lamp diffuse the light in the room and creates a cozy atmoshpere.
Because its attractrive design the Pion lamp really fits in any interior don't you think so?
I my opinion the remarkable and uncommon form makes the Pion lamp
by Hay a beautiful eyecatcher for every room.

from my wishlist - May Day

photos elvs

I always had an eye on the beautiful and multi-purpose May Day lamp by Flos
just love its beautiful and simple design and this year
it definitely ended up on my christmas wishlist.
When dutch online store FonQ.nl asked me if I was interested in
writing a short review about one of the products of their design department
I didn't have to think for more than one second...
I choosed one of my favorite lamps from their collection;

the May Day worklamp is created  bKonstantin Grcic
and designed to be a tool.  It has this practical handle where you can find
the ON/OFF switch and two spikes to wind up the 5 meter long cable.
The big white funnel is at the same time reflector and protector.
It gives off a warmly diffused light.
The lamp can be carried with the all-purpose handle or even be hung up
and is really handy in all sorts of expected/unexpected situations

In my opinion this lamp truly is an original alternative to follow up
the latest work light trend... don't you think so?
just love the simple and industrial design of the lamp
and it really looks fantastic in every housing space
 - as a pendant light, a ceiling light or a floor light!-

"May Day" is the perfect example that design products
don't have to be very expensive ...
have a look at FONQ.nl here to find out more
about their large collection of design producs from many brands
